WEEK 9

AND MORE SWITZERLAND

I am still hitchhiking around in Switzerland, left the farm and deciced to stay in Switzerland and hitchhike around, lot of friendly people in a amazing country. So expensive, but if you don't have a lot of money anyway, than it doesn't matter I guess... I have to say it isn't always easy, leaving people and places almost every day, the insecurity of not knowing where to sleep, what to eat.

But the trip started so natural, just leaving my house in Belgium with a €150, to clear my head. And for some reason I was now doing this for 9 weeks and seeing a lot of people are really open minded for this trip, so it gave me the energy to just keep going.

Anyway, af the end of the week I spoke with an grand mother who was doing her garden, asking to fill my water bottle. She seemed so nice so I asked her if it would be okay to put my tent in her garden and sleep there tonight, and she told me I could sleep in her house... Nice :) I stayed for 2 days and got to know her son and the grandchildren.

The grandmother and her son, first day with her :)

WEEK 8

SW<3TZERLAND

First day arriving in Switzerland a guy dropped me in the middle of a small town, kind of strange but he was friendly. Anyway I wandered around and looked where I could sleep and stuff, the usual routine withouh a lot of money... Then I bumped in to a Women in a Bio-Shop, and we had a really good connection immediately, and she invited me to her place and offered me a bed. Amazing :)

When leaving this familly I decided to stay in Switzerland because it is really an amazing country, so beautiful. On the highway I met a girl who told me I could work on her mothers farm for some money, or just volunteering. I took her invitation and went with her to the farm.
Really nice people and so cool to meet such a open minded people.

The next day when I woke up, I was totally sick. So I couldn't really work or whatever, but they told me I could recover as long as I needed. I spent a week and a half at the farm, got to know the entire familly. We did some sightseeing in Switzerland to, and the end of staying with the familly I felt 'better', but still I thaught there is somethin wrong.

Now when I look back at it, it explains a lot that I didn't got better because I didn't now I had 'toxoplasmose', the kitty disease.
Bad kitty.

...

Very very bad kitty.

On our way to a event called the Sbrinz route. The people used to take the Cheese over the hills to the Italian side of the Alps, it was an long trip over the alps, they used Horses to carry the cheese. Today the route isn't used anymore as in the past offcourse, but they still do it for tourisme. Interesting!

WEEK 7

WE LOVE THE MOUNTAINS

600 km

When leaving the street artists I went to some little towns in the hills for a couple of days.
There I met a family who were quite religious. At the end of the evening I had a long talk with the daughters about religion, was the first experience in a long time with Jesus and God. It felt kind of strange and exciting at the same moment.
After seeing the small hills I wanted to go to the higher mountains and the people told me Tirol is beautifull so I had a new plan, Tirol here I comeee.

Tirol was absolutely amazing, just no words for it. I went hiking in the mountains, although I was so tired, I couldn't help myself and really wanted to reacht the summit. After this hike I decided to sleep on 2km of height, and just that night there were so many shooting stars, was crazy. And to top if off, it was on my birthday.

ƪ(ˆ▽ˆ)ʃ

After this (short) night, I was so so broken. I met some nice people who helped me out a lot(!). I got a ride with a couple who saw I was so broken I guess, and the offerend me to go to a camping to recover for a couple off days. Thereafter I visited Liechtenstein, a really small 'country' or microstate, and just at the time I was there Liechtenstein celebrated their 30th anniversary with the princedom so there were a lot of people celebrating.
